Payment & dunning (TenaBill)

Configure what happens when a customer's invoice goes overdue — reminder emails, subscription suspension, a late fee, and (optionally) automatic cancellation.

Console: TenaBill merchant console → SettingsPayment & dunning (/settings/dunning)

The page is split into four independent sections. Each has its own Save button, so changing the reminder schedule doesn't require re-entering your grace period or late fee settings.

Grace period

FieldWhat it does
Grace period (days)Days after an invoice becomes overdue before the subscription is automatically suspended. Leave blank to disable automatic suspension entirely — reminders still send, but the subscription is never suspended for non-payment.

Reminder schedule

FieldWhat it does
Reminder daysComma-separated list of days after the due date to send a payment reminder email, e.g. 1, 7, 14. Leave blank to use the deployment default schedule.

Late fee

FieldWhat it does
Charge a late fee on suspensionWhen checked, a one-time invoice is issued the moment a subscription is suspended for non-payment.
Late fee amount (dollars)The late fee amount, entered in dollars (e.g. 5.00 = $5.00). Billed as a new invoice — it is never deducted from a credit balance.

Auto-cancel after suspension

FieldWhat it does
Auto-cancel suspended subscriptionsWhen checked, a subscription that's been suspended for non-payment is automatically cancelled after the configured number of days.
Days after suspensionHow many days a subscription can sit suspended before it's cancelled. If this section is off, a suspended subscription stays suspended indefinitely until the customer pays or you cancel it manually.

Troubleshooting

SymptomWhat to check
Reminder days field rejects your inputOnly non-negative whole numbers up to 3,650 are accepted, comma-separated (e.g. 1, 7, 14) — remove any stray characters or spaces around the commas
Late fee amount won't saveEnter a plain dollar amount like 5.00, not a value with a currency symbol
Auto-cancel days field is disabledCheck Auto-cancel suspended subscriptions first — the days field only applies once auto-cancel is enabled
A section didn't saveEach of the four sections saves independently — confirm you clicked Save on the specific section you edited, not a different one
